There's something magical about witnessing the miracle of life unfold before your eyes, especially when it involves fluffy ducklings waddling into the world.
Our six-week journey with the Nanny McCluckins Duck Hatching Experience was nothing short of extraordinary, offering a unique opportunity to learn about the lifecycle of ducks through the incubation and hatching of duck eggs.

The Incredible Hatch Journey
Hatching the ducklings was a mesmerizing experience that left all of us in awe. After picking up the incubator and hatch kit, we set everything up. For 28 days, we waited for our little ducks to emerge from their shells. We performed daily egg checks and studied the growth and development inside. The excitement and anticipation built up as we got closer and closer to their hatch window.

Finally, the ducklings broke out of their eggs and wobbled into existence. We couldn't help but marvel at the wonders of nature. For two weeks, we played with our adorable companions. We handled them, showered them with love, fed them, and even set up a little paddling pool in the back yard and guided them on their first swim.

On the last day of the duckling experience, we invited the parents and siblings of our students to stay after school so they could meet and spend a little time with the ducklings. This also gave our students a chance to say goodbye to the little quackers.
Needless to say, while it was emotionally challenging for the kids say goodbye, they also understood the ducks couldn't stay with us forever. They would go back to the farm, rejoin their flock, and continue their journey in a more natural setting.

We are so grateful for this experience - it was a quacky and heartfelt journey into the fascinating world of duckling development. And yes, the students are already asking if we can do this again next year.
