Individualized Education: Homeschool Approach
Located in the southeast Calgary community of Auburn Bay, Laugh Learn Play Microschool offers dynamic and personalized homeschool classes for grades 1-4.
We believe that rigid grade-level expectations shouldn't hinder a child's progress; instead, we encourage them to flourish at their own pace.
Through personalized assessments of each child's unique abilities and learning styles, we craft customized learning programs that foster academic excellence and a genuine passion for learning. This approach ensures every child receives the support and opportunities they need to realize their full potential.
We believe in the power of inclusive education and welcome children with a wide range of learning needs - neurotypical and neurodiverse. However, our commitment is to create an environment where each child feels valued, supported, and safe in their educational journey. As such, we cannot accommodate children with aggressive behavioural concerns.

Individualized Attention
A small class size allows our teacher to get to know each student, their challenges and strengths on a deeper level. Students receive more one-on-one attention in a safe and supportive environment. Peer relationships are also more close-knit.

Community Connections
We nurture compassion for each other and the world. We invite many guest speakers to class, like the Calgary Humane Society, and participate in fundraisers, like the Terry Fox School Run, to learn about our local community and help make it a better place.

Building Self-Esteem & Social Skills
We take the time to build up self-esteem, self-expression, and interpersonal communication skills. Children learn to express their feelings healthily and advocate for their needs. If disagreements arise, we practice guided, peer-to-peer conflict management to resolve issues.

Growth Mindset
We meet students where they are academically and incorporate their passions and interests into a custom learning plan with small, achievable goals. We foster a growth mindset toward challenges and celebrate our milestones.
