Laugh Learn Play Microschool is where children in grades 1-4 can explore, discover, and grow in a fun and engaging environment. Our mission is to provide each child with a unique and personalized learning experience. With our dedicated teacher, Tianna Hopfner, we create a nurturing and stimulating atmosphere that fosters a love for learning.

My name is Tianna Hopfner, and it is my privilege and passion to be the owner and teacher of Laugh Learn Play (LLP) Microschool.
As an Alberta-certified teacher, I have spent over 14 years teaching young people, mostly in primary grades. Over that time, I've seen some wonderful kids struggle because the traditional education system cannot give them the one-on-one attention they need.
My goal with LLP Microschool is to provide every child with a safe, fun, and close-knit environment that supports their unique learning styles and unlocks their love of learning.
The Laugh Learn Play Microschool Story
Laugh Learn Play Microschool emerged during the 2020 pandemic. Tianna, a teacher and mother of two, aimed to provide her children with an in-person education and socialization in a small, safe, cozy setting.
Connecting with parents seeking alternatives to crowded classrooms, Laugh Learn Play Microschool was born. What became necessary evolved into Tianna's passion: offering a unique, fulfilling home-based education led by a qualified and compassionate teacher.
We're excited to continue this journey, providing parents with an educational alternative that supports individualized learning and attention.
A Welcoming Learning Environment
Our home-based facility in the charming southeast Calgary community of Auburn Bay offers a welcoming environment that fosters learning and development.
Additionally, we host guest lecturers from the community, organize monthly field trips to encourage exploration and discovery, and host monthly baking days for the children. Our location has several parks and green spaces, providing ample outdoor play and exercise opportunities. We also have pets (a dog, a cat, and some fish), which help children with emotional regulation as they develop relationships with their furry and fishy friends.
